Ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections in West Bengal, Abhishek Banerjee has embarked on a comprehensive two-month-long public relations tour. Travelling to every district, he is actively engaging with the people, listening to their concerns, and offering solutions.
Responding to this initiative, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also begun preparations for their own Panchayat Yatra. Reports suggest that the BJP will undertake a 21-day padyatra across at least 200 assembly constituencies, led by BJP Yuva Morcha President Indranil Khan.
Notably, Tejashwi Surya, the All India Yuva Morcha President, is also expected to participate, alongside various state leaders, MPs, and MLAs. Prominent figures such as State BJP President Sukant Mazumdar and Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari will also join the yatra.
Abhishek Banerjee's PR tour commenced in North Bengal on March 25 and is scheduled to conclude on the coast after a two-month span. In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up to visit a significant number of villages in the state, with separate committees being formed for this purpose.
Sources reveal a plan to establish 42 committees, each covering a specific Lok Sabha constituency. Indranil Khan commented on Trinamool Congress' padyatra, suggesting it is an attempt to salvage the party from internal strife.
